17 Feb Iris Eytan Participated in Panel Discussion titled, “Propelling Change 2021: Supporting the Social Justice Movement through Legislative Action” at the Center for Legal Inclusiveness

Iris Eytan spoke as a panelist for the Denver-based Center for Legal Inclusiveness (CLI) discussion on February 17, 2021 titled, “Propelling Change 2021: Supporting the Social Justice Movement through Legislative Action.” This event was approved for two Colorado CLE credits and was available to all members of CLI, DC Bar Association members, and all law school students.
Topics discussed amongst the four panelists included:
• Efforts pertaining to courts, like bond hearings and drug conviction record sealing
• Policing bills
• Efforts to decrease jail and prison populations
• DA Accountability Bill
• Updates 2-217 that was just filed what we think is the first lawsuit under the new law today
Other panelists who participated in the conversation included: Tristan Gormon, Legislative Policy Coordinator for Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (CCDB); Rebecca Wallace, Senior Staff Attorney & Senior Policy Counsel (ACLU); and Tyrone Glover, Civil Rights Criminal Attorney for Killmer Lane & Newman, LLP.

CLI’s mission is to advance diversity in the legal profession by actively educating and supporting private and public sector legal organizations in their own individual campaigns to create cultures of inclusion.
