An agreement has been reached to end a backlog at the Pueblo state hospital of hundreds of criminal defendants awaiting competency restoration treatment needed so they can proceed to trial.
The agreement resolves a long-standing lawsuit against the Colorado Department of Human Services, the parent agency of the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo.
