The Autobee Case: Victim’s Family Urges DA Stop Pursuit of Death Penalty

I represent the Autobee family.   Bob Autobee came to me asking for guidance and help as he and his family are victims of a violent crime.  Their son, Eric Autobee, was killed by Edward Montour 12 years ago.   Mr. Montour’s first murder conviction and sentence were overturned because they were entered when Mr. Montour was mentally ill, with no lawyer, and one judge sentenced him.   The re-trial is now underway.

My clients, the Autobee family, object to the prosecution’s pursuit of the death penalty—as they want life in prison.   The Autobee family have publicly stated the reasons why they don’t believe Mr. Montour should receive the death penalty and they range from moral, religious, justice system failures and finances.   The prosecution is attempting to gag the Autobee family from telling the jury at the sentencing hearing they do not want Mr. Montour getting executed.
