The First National Criminal Defense Forum on Forensic Mental Health and the Law is Underway

The First National Criminal Defense Forum on Forensic Mental Health and the Law is co-sponsored by Reilly Pozner LLP and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, there are attendees here from 42 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, and Japan. The conference is sold out and the ballroom is bursting with people and excitement. The attendees are eager to hear from the masters in forensic mental health.

Bob Perske kicked off the event with his keynote address – From the Gallery — Watching the Vulnerable Getting Accused and Convicted in the Criminal Justice System. He talked about his successful efforts in getting individuals with development and intellectual disabilities pardoned, even posthumously in the case of Joe Arridy. Bob explained how and why individuals with disabilities are coerced into making false confessions. Bob’s heartfelt presentation was the perfect start to what will be an extraordinary event.
